RE-WEAR the DRESS
Mel and Mike RE-WEAR night || Vancouver Wedding Photographers

When Mike and Mel contacted us to do a RE-Wear the Dress session we couldn’t wait to get back out to their farm. The white and blue barn, big grass fields, horses…our photography minds were going into overdrive! The night was perfect and Jen gave Mel a golden smoky eye that caught the evening light beautifully. We had so much fun {which is what we believe your wedding photos should be} when we saw the loft to the barn it was a photographers dream come true, until Mel said oh there are spiders all in the bails of hay. Amy froze and there was a bit of panic!
Normally we do these sessions with just the bride, so when Mike said he would be in the photos too we thought that was so rad! There was a Harley, a tractor, horses, and dogs. It was quite the night!

Mel you are beautiful!! And we LOVE your dress.

“She thinks my tractor’s sexy…”

No brides were injured in this bucket…

Yummy light! {our fave}

Oh the fun you can have with your dress!

Just a little luggage for the honeymoon. FIERCE posing it for the end of the night.

The phrase of the day, but in the end we think you both are!
Kim REwears the Dress || Vancouver Wedding Photographers
Kim married Jay on August 19th, 2006. Four years later and wearing her lace wedding dress for our second REwear the Dress photo shoot for Lisa Gregory‘s Eye Candy wedding book, we started to shoot just after Jaime’s shoot was over and the sun was setting…
Why so late? Kim brought us the idea of a vampire shoot and us being True Blood and The Lost Boys fangirls we were super on board! It was quite a contrast from the romantic look of Kim’s friend Jamie’s shoot just hours earlier but we still wanted beautiful photos so no fake fangs here. Kim was an awesome accessory finder with the black gloves and black necklaces. Scarlett Ballantyne gave Kim the tousled hair and eyes that would stop anyone in their tracks.
As twilight fell we surrounded Kim with candles and thanks to her husband Jay, who happened to have a fog machine, we were able to to bring in a little bit of moodiness. {Thanks to Cole for working the generator! We don’t travel light!} What do you get when you mix corn syrup and red food colouring? A glass full of a vampire’s dinner.
Thank YOU Kim for a sensational REwear the Dress shoot! You were amazing.

The candles added so much to this shoot, love them!

One of our favourite shots. Breathtaking.

Jamie REwears the Dress || Vancouver Wedding Photographers
Jamie married Charles on August 26th, 2007. Three years later and back in her dress she looked stunning, for this REwear the Dress photo shoot for Lisa Gregory‘s upcoming Eye Candy wedding book.
Scarlett Ballantyne gave Jamie soft curls and light makeup with dark liner with lashes forever! The one thing that we loved was the little touch of glitter in the corner of Jamie’s eyes, it caught the light and sparkled like diamonds.
We wanted to create a very romantic, pretty shoot for Jamie. Jen found a fantastic field of long grass and with the sun shining behind Jamie it was gorgeous! Now note to self: always take antihistamines if you are allergic to nature! Jamie, Jen and I all had sneezing fits and hives were soon to come…Ahhhh long grass beautiful in photos kind of deadly for allergies! Thank goodness for Jen’s emergency stash of cold and sinus in her car!!
Jamie also rocked out some great Stella and Dot accessories which completed her look {contact Jen if you would like to book a trunk show, the new 2010 Fall line just came out and it’s gorgeous!}. A beautiful start to our REwear the Dress Day! Who’s up tomorrow? Jamie’s friend Kim…Stay tuned!!

Three small props turn a large vast field into a more vintage photograph.

Our favourite shot of the day. BEAUTIFUL.

Okay this was the workout of the day and where the hives came from! But we love the photos! Thank YOU Jamie!

Andrea REwears her Dress
We have had an idea for a REwear the Dress session on Seymour Mountain for a bride who snowboards or skis, but we needed that perfect, no fear bride! Andrea and Jason were married in Lake Tahoe in September, Andrea also wanted some photos in Vancouver, where her family lives. When Andrea contacted us to say she was coming home to Vancouver to visit and wanted to get some local shots and said she is an avid snowboarder, we knew we found the perfect bride to mention our idea of going up to the mountain and she was all in! The photos speak for themselves, a beautiful bride and our beautiful local mountain…What more could we ask for?!!

Amanda RE-WEARS her DRESS!
Our first RE-WEAR the DRESS contest was a fantastic success! It really goes to show that you don’t always need a bright sunny day to shoot photos outside, with a little creative thinking so much can be created with Vancouver’s fall showers. So with that it was a rainy cold day that we met up with Amanda and we put her right to a modeling day of work! We told her to imagine she was in Tahiti as we shot outside on a 5-acre lot in a barn with tractors, bales of hay, ATVs and Diesel the Rottweiler. Then we moved inside to really glam it up to the Vanilla Room with plush red walls, chains hanging from the ceiling, and tables lit from below
We had our fab entourage with us. An amazing group of women that offered their time and services to this contest. Breanne styled Amanda’s hair in ways that would make any fashion model line up for. All of the beautiful glitzy and glittery jewelry pieces came from Stacy who is a Personal Stylist with Stella and Dot. Not that Amanda needed much more sparkle having just been married in August she still has the Honeymoon glow, but the assorted necklaces, rings and bracelets put a twinkle in her eye! Jennifer also showed two of her many talents by transforming Amanda’s makeup into the smokey eyed bride that looked simply stunning.
Jen and I want to thank Breanne and Stacy and most of all Amanda for being a fantastic model! We love being creative with our brides after the wedding, it’s so much fun and who wouldn’t want to wear their dress again?!!
