RE-WEAR the DRESS final days to enter CONTEST!
September 29, 2009 by admin
Well ladies there are just two days left for our RE-WEAR the DRESS contest! We have some great entries and as of Wednesday September 31 at Midnight the contest will be closed! We will be announcing and contacting the winner on October 1.
We have TWO BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS: first, your hair styling will now be taken care of on the day of the shoot. Breanne will be ready to create soft, big beautiful curls or sexy, sleek straight hair. This won’t be your typical “wedding up-do” we want you to have fun today and we want your hair style to reflect that.
The second big announcement, Stacy who is a Star stylist with Stella and Dot will be styling the bride with jewellery from the Stella and Dot line on the day of the photo session! A bold punch of colour or their smokey crystal jewels are gorgeous! Here are some of our favourites… Which are yours?
Time is ticking away, so get those entries in!
What is RE-WEAR the DRESS? Also known as Trash the Dress, we have decided to give this type of photo shoot a less scary name! It gives you is the opportunity to get some very different images, taken in locations that you wouldn’t go to on your wedding day, and have fashion/editorial type photos taken in your wedding gown. This can be a river, forest, ocean, car yard, hotel, anywhere that you want. When you RE-WEAR the DRESS you don’t have to damage it. You can let your imagination run wild as the sky’s the limit!

What do you need in you Wedding Day Purse….
September 24, 2009 by admin
There are a few key items that you want to have in your purse the day of your wedding. Since your purse will be most likely small, there are a few other things you want to have your maid of honor carry for you and your girls.
Lets start with the Bride’s purse:
Blotting Papers – Use these to get rid of any moisture and shine on your face. If you use powder all day, it will just look cakey by the time your reception starts.
Lipstick/gloss - Find out from your makeup artist on the day of your trial session, what colour she is using. This way you can make sure you have it with you to do touch ups on the wedding day.
Pressed Powder – Not to be used a lot, but you want this to do touch ups periodically throughout the day. Always make sure you blot your face with your blotting papers first so any sweat doesn’t mix with the powder to cake it.
Q-tips - Just in case any eye makeup goes south, these make cleanups and blending a breeze.
Tissue – From tears of joy to tears from the sun being in your eyes, these keep your makeup from being wiped off. Make sure when you wick away your tears, hold the tissue with your index finger and hold in the tear duct of your eye. Avoid wiping as it will take makeup with you, and leave you with streaks.
Mints – You’ll want minty fresh breath all day long.
Now for the Maid of Honor’s purse:
Advil - You never know when a headache may strike!
Tide to Go pen – Dresses will get dirty the day of the wedding. You can use this for any stains you can’t live with the rest of the day.
Small sewing kit – In case a hem drops or a bustle loop breaks. Better to be safe than sorry.
Straw – So you can drink water, etc, without smudging your lipstick.
Band-Aids – It will be misery if you get blister and have nothing to cover them up with.
A few other things that could be useful: antiperspirant, an emery board, bobby pins a travel size hairspray.

Robina and Don's Wedding Stationery
September 8, 2009 by admin
One of the things I really love about designing wedding stationery is having the opportunity to get to know the bride and groom to create a one of a kind invitation for their day.
When I met with Robina she knew that she wanted to use recycled paper for her invitations. Recycled paper has come a long way in just a few short years, it’s able to hold ink colour much better now and looks fantastic printed with graphic images or photographs. So I knew what paper I wanted to use.
Let’s start with their wedding invitations and RSVP postcards.
On the wedding day the programs for the guests were printed on the same recycled paper and I used the same fonts and illustrated image of the tree.
We did bling out the seating chart! Using the same image and fonts tied everything together. Robina and Don named each of their tables after different types of trees.
Don’t buy those rolls of tickets that you get just about anywhere! Again bringing the theme together to create custom tickets that will have your guests buzzing!!
